Abstract |
This study aimed to measure the fluoride content in bottled waters on offer in the city of Sanandaj and comparison with the amount listed on their labels and also comparison with standards. In this study, 10 brands of bottled water were sampled from Sanandaj markets over the two seasons randomly. Ion chromatographic method was used to measure the fluoride ion. ANOVA, POST HOC and Pearson tests used for statistical analysis with SPSS software, Version 11,5. Results show that the fluoride ion concentration in different brands had a significant difference (P <0.05) and their mean equal to 0.157 ± 0.0958 mg / lit. Among 8 brands that Fluoride ion concentrations were given in their label, four brands were observed significant differences with the measured values. Totally the measured values didn’t match with the values declared on the labels (Reliability coefficient <0). Measured Fluoride ion concentration in all brands was less than the lower range of Iranian standards (0.7-1.2 mg/lit). |
