Abstract

Thin films of transparent zinc oxide (ZnO) have been grown by potentiostatic cathodic deposition onto copper-coated PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) from a simple aqueous zinc nitrate electrolyte. The various optimum deposition parameters like potential, pH and bath temperature are investigated. Structural, morphological, compositional and optical characterizations of the films developed under different conditions were carried out to study such effects. The films were also tested for their potential use in photovoltaics.
