Abstract |
The parent substance in our studies was 2-phenyl-4-phenylamino-5-hydroxymethyl-6-methylpyrimidine (1) which, by treating with SOCl2 ,was converted into pyrimidine 5-chloroderivative (2). The chloroderivative obtained was then condensed with terpene amine. The pyrimidine terpenoderivatives were tested on seven selected bacterial strains: Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae. Antifungal tests were also carried out on Candida albicans. Some interesting microbiological results were obtained, both antibacterial and antifungal. |
