Abstract

From the data obtained in TA and electrochemical studies, the phase diagram for the system thallium(I) telluride - indium(III) telluride was constructed. It follows from the diagram that in the system:

- a compound is formed of component molar ratio Tl2Te : In2Te3 = 5:6 to which a formula Tl10In12Te23 may be ascribed.

- another compound is formed of component molar ratio Tl2Te : In2Te3 = 4:3 to which a formula Tl8In6Te13 may be ascribed;

- the compound Tl8In6Te13 forms terminal solid solution (γ) on the Tl10In12Te23 matrix 5.5 mol. % wide i. e. from 49.0 mol. % In2Te3 to 54.5 mol. % In2Te3;

thallium(I) telluride forms terminal solid solution (α) in a peritectic reaction at 723.2 K with the compound Tl8In6Te13 within the range 0 - 30 mol. % In2Te3;

- the compound Tl10In12Te23 and In2Te3 form eutectic of composition 84.5 mol. % In2Te3 and melting point 922.8 K, and a terminal solid solution (β) 5 mol. % wide.
