A numerical investigation of ductile fracture initiation in ultra high strength low alloy NiSiCrCoMo steel

In the present wok, a standard specimen subjected to tensile loading is analysed by performing finite element simulations. The deformation at the crack tip is studied . A set of available analytical results and the experimental data on the deformation of ultra high strength low alloy steel NiSiCrCoMo steel are used for the validation .It has been shown that the numerical simulation can be considered as equivalent to performing real experimentation
