Abstract

The brazing technology for perovskite ceramic materials with metals, and also a method of coatings deposition with high adhesion using metal melts which contain elements with high affinity to electron is developed. The braze alloys based on the Ag–Cu–O system were investigated for use in joining barium titanate (BaTiO3), strontium titanate (SrTiO3) and plumbum tungstate (PbWO4) ceramics. Perovskite ceramic materials were successfully brazed in air and pure oxygen atmosphere at 700°C and 1000°C. It was shown, that wetting in pure oxygen and adhesion in pure oxygen is more intensively, than in air. The microstructure of contacting phases a ceramics/metal was researched. The variant of silver-copper coating plating and the subsequent brazing of platinum electrode was developed. Silver wire can be successfully used as an electrode. Such joints have been obtained too. The strength of brazed joint was defined in shear condition. It is known, that these values strongly depends on ceramics strength. The strength of brazed samples is 40 – 50 МPа. The strength was relatively constant for all brazing conditions tested.
