Abstract |
The efficiency of solar cells dramatically depends on light that can arrive to the active layer. Due to reflection losses, the photo generated current density (and consequently, the efficiency) reaches a level much lower than he maximum for the standard terrestrial spectrums of light coming for the sun To reduce the reflection of incident light at the surface of the cell, an antireflecting coating (ARC) can be used over the cell. This coating can range from a simple layer to a multilayer system of many layers having almost zero reflectance over a wide range of wavelengths. ZnO/ZnS bilayers to antireflection coatings for solar cells have been prepared by spray pyrolysis using mixed aqueous solutions of zinc acetate dehydrated and thiourea or zinc chloride and thiourea. The surface morphology of the bilayer are investigated as a function of the initial solution. In general, ZnS thin films prepared from both solutions have smooth, homogeneous and dense surfaces, without cracks or hollows. ZnO/ZnS bilayers show a less smooth surfaces produced by the ZnO thin film prepared over the ZnS thin film. The ZnO layer covers the ZnS film completely; the surface of the ZnO film shows a surface with a slow ruggedness without cracks or hollows. When the ZnS inner film of the ZnO/ZnS bilayer has been annealing at 773 K in N2 atmosphere during 1 hour, it shows the ruggednest surface. |
