A K₂(Ti₈O₁₇)/ TiO₂ composite bio-ceramic coating on the surface of titanium was prepared successfully by an in situ electrochemical technique. During emersion in simulated body liquid the surface topography, microstructure, composition-of-phases, and the bioactivity of the coating were evaluated. The test results indicated that the K₂(Ti₈O₁₇)/ TiO₂ bio-ceramic composite coating has fine biocompatibility and bioactivity.
