In this talk, we will present the main search mechanisms in designing evolutionary algorithms: encodings, genetic operators, selection, replacement, diversification. We will tackle the hybridization aspect with other metaheuristics, the solving of multi-objective optimization problems and the design of parallel models for evolutionary algorithms.

We will also present a software framework to implement any evolutionary algorithm: the PARADISEO software (see http://paradiseo.gforgE.inria.fr).
