Abstract |
Amino acid imbalance play an important role in pathogenesis of chronical alcohol intoxication. We investigated effect of composition of BCAA and taurine (Leu:Val:Ile:Tau = 4:1:1:2) on the liver amino acids pool of rats under chronical alcohol intoxication (7 ml/kg/day during 28 days). Composition was injected intragastrically twice a day in net dose 500 mg/kg. We found that chronic ethanol intoxication decreases levels of threonine, lysine, proline, hydroxyproline and arginine. Analysis of correlation between levels of amino acids in the liver lets us assume, that alcohol intoxication induces disturbances in methabolism of threonine, glycine, serine in spite of the stable levels of latter. Intragastric administration of composition of BCAA and taurine was found to prevent shifts in the levels of threonine, lysine and proline. At the same time increased levels of glycine, lysine and ethanolamine, while concentrations of phosphoethanolamine and alpha-aminobutyric acid became decreased. Decreased level of phosphoethanolamine may indicate membrane-stabilizing properties of composition of BCAA and taurine used under condition of alcohol intoxication. Besides, decrease of the level of a‑aminobutiric acid and elevation of the BCAA/AAA ration in the liver may probably suggest the potential hepatoprotective action of the preparation, and its ability to diminish the risk of hepatic encephalopathy. |
