Abstract

Abstract:

Introduction: Fluorine is one of fourteen elements which is essential for animal’s life. Role of this element in teeth and bone health promotion is widely proved. That little concentration of surface water and groundwater resources are found in high concentrations.

Materials and methods: The study descriptive – analytic study of 14 wells that supply water to the Noor county in spring ( rainy ) and autumn( low rainfall)  chemical sampling was performed . Spadns method and spectrophotometer device model DR-2000 were used to evaluate water fluoride concentration.

Results: According to tests conducted on 28 sample of spring and autumn, average concentration of fluoride was 0/19 ppm in the spring  and 0/29 ppm  in  the autumn

Conclusion:  fluoride concentration in both season of   sampling all water sources that supply the minimum amount recommended by WHO (0/5 ppm) was lower. since the fluoride concentration in water varies inversely with temperature . in this study , fluoride  concentration  are inversely associated with temperature , which is statistically significant . given the low concentration of  fluoride in drinking water in Noor county .less than the minimum acceptable standard , taking into account the temperature in different seasons ,in future to be fluoridation .
