Abstract

Kinetics of movement of the powdered layer melting front at the centrifugal induction surfacing makes essential impact on physical-mechanical and operating properties of applying protective coatings. This is due to the fact that the majority of surfacing materials are thermosensitive, i.e. increase surfacing temperature and time of thermal influence, as a rule, has negative influence on formation of the powder layer microstructure.

As a result of development of mathematical model of melting front movement  in a powdered material the minimum surfacing time is defined. It allows to minimise negative impact of thermal influence on structure formation of applyed coating, to raise productivity of the process, to lower power inputs and to ensure saving of nonferrous and high alloys by reducing the allowance for machining.

The difference of developed mathematical model of melting front movement from previously known is that the surface temperature from which there is a heat transfer, is a variable and varies in a time under the linear law.
