Abstract |
A well-defined Ir-NHC-based heterogeneous catalyst was synthesized by Surface Organometallic Chemistry on mesostructured hybrid organic inorganic silica. This Ir-NHC catalyst was obtained in three key steps: i) synthesis of a mesostructured material with regularly distributed imidazolium units, ii) formation of Ag-NHC moieties and iii) transmetallation with [Cp*IrCl2]2, each step being fully controlled and supported by several analytical techniques (XRD, BET, elemental analysis and solid state NMR). This Ir-NHC material is highly active in H/D-exchange reaction of acetophenone with methanol-d4. Noteworthy, this catalytic material has catalytic performances similar to homogeneous homologues with the advantage of being easily recyclable. |
