Abstract

Cellulose is most abundant natural, renewable, and biodegradable polymer in the world. Polysaccharides, like cellulose, are the polymer group with the longest and widest medical applications experience because of their unique properties: nontoxicity, water solubility or high swelling ability by simple chemical modification.
The large concern is introduced by cellulose phosphates, the physical-chemical properties which one are caused by an opportunity of applying in various fields of medicine.
In present study the synthesis by H3PO4/P2O5/Bu3PO4/CCl4 method was optimized in terms of reaction parameters.
Cellulose samples (viscose) were swollen for 24 h in CCl4 to assess the influence of swelling prior to chemical modification. The reaction parameters were investigated and products characterized. Parameters investigated were: reaction time, temperature, concentration of H3PO4, CCl4, Bu3PO4 (TBP), P2O5. The products were characterized by the following methods: Kjeldhal method (phosphorous content), SEM, potentiometric titration, X-ray diffraction, IR. The molecular masses of obtained samples were determined by static of light scattering.
On the establishment of received results were determined the optimal conditions of the of reception of the cellulose phosphate.
