Abstract

It is well known that ethanol-induced amino acids imbalans may be an important underlain factor of alcohol cardiomyopathy. This study tested the hypothesis that ethanol-induced imbalance in the pool of the free amino acids of heart may be modified by the administration of amino acids mixture in the experimental model of alcoholism. One week alcoholization according to Majchrowizc was associated with the imbalans in the pool of free amino acids of heart. Amino acids mixture of BCAA (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine) and Taurine (Leu:Ile:Val:Tau:1:0,25:0,25:1) in dose 500 mg/kg intragastrically, when co-administered with alcohol completely prevent development imbalance in the pool of free amino acids of heart. The results of this study suggest that imbalance in the pool of free amino acids of heart caused by alcohol consumption can be prevented by administration of amino acids mixture taurine and BCAA.
