Abstract

There are many networks available to encourage and support businesses ranging from social networks through to large international networks and virtual communities. It is often confusing as to what network is the right network for me and also how would it deliver added value to my business and not just be a distraction. This presentation will aim to show how the right network can support business growth particularly through technology translation and knowledge transfer. The UK government has established sector and technology specific networks to support key economic areas. A case study based on how the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network is helping the Transport Materials Industrial Sector will be given.
