Abstract

It is known, that the behavior of compact materials under shock wave
loading of the middle intensity can be described by the
phenomenological equation: D=A+BU, where D is the shock velocity, U is
the particle velocity, A and B are the empirical coefficients. Shock
Hugoniot of porous materials can be written in the same form, but in
this case the coefficients A and B depend on the porosity of the
material k=V[00]/V[0], where V[00] and V[0] are the specific volume of
porous and compact material, respectively.
Considering the experimental data, the form of functional dependence
A(k) and B(k) was proposed and the parameters of these functions for
Al, Bi, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mo, Ni, Pb, Ta, W and Zn was determined.
