Abstract

The optical properties of rare-earth (Eu3+, Tb3+, Nd3+) doped Y3Al5O12 nanoceramics characterized by different grain sizes in the range 25 – 100 nm and different concentration of rare-earth ions were investigated. The method of fabrication and structural investigations are presented. The influence of doping level on the luminescence spectra and structural properties has been observed. The emission spectra were measured as a function of excitation power. The mechanisms leading to the hot emission in Nd3+:YAG nanoceramics are discussed.
