Abstract

Social networks are the main medium that is responsible for spreading  such phenomena like: pathogens, trends, some kind of information (eg. gossip), there are also some proves that there is connection between social networks and distribution of obesity, smoking and happiness in society. In order to properly model the development of this phenomenons it is required to use proper model of social network.  This paper proposes a new method of social network simulation based on census data. Proposed method attribute each node (simulated person) to a  different social groups. Size and number of different social groups are based on census data as well as basic parameters of nodes (age, gender ) This attribution is the base to generate social network. Such a solution allows not only  to create social network that properly model the structure of the network but also it is consistent with basic society statistics (age distribution, structure of employment, education and residence).
