Study of the raw material, growth method on the optical properties of DKDP crystal

Abstract

In this paper, three kind KH2PO4 raw materials were used to grow DKDP crystals by traditional and rapid method respectively. The growth habit dependence on the purity of the raw material is described and analyzed. The optical properties including transmission spectra and laser induced damage threshold of these crystals have been measured. We found that the growth method affects the crystal’s optical properties more obviously than the raw material with the mass content of main metal ions below 1 ppm.
