Abstract

Women were allowed to enter universities merely 100 years ago. Nowadays they constitute a considerable part of scientific community, hold posts of professors and quit often as recognized researcher. Women are strongly present in all areas of life and science, but at the same time in Europe, and especially in Poland, birthrate is reduced. It is caused by the fact that in Poland, women are afraid of their position in the work and it is difficult to reconcile professional life and rearing children. In the paper we compare number of women and men working at Warsaw University of Life Science – SGGW having or not having children. We also tried to check if women becoming mothers have the power to work as creatively as before the childbirth. The question that we have posed is weather motherhood has influence on scientific performance of woman
