Abstract

By using potentiodynamic , galvano static and potentiostatic polarization , conducting poly ( 0- toluidine ) coatings are obtained on low carbon low alloy steel in aqueous oxalic acid. The growth mechanism of these coatings were studied . It has been shown that the nucleation and growth of these coatings on steel in aqueous acidic medium occurs in three steps . The corrosion inhibition properties were evaluated by open circuit potential measurements .It has been shown that corrosion control is possible by using these coatings.
Key words - Conducting poly(0 - toluidine) , nucleation and growth , corrosion control .
