Quantitative Methods in Economics QME'2009

The conference is the 10th one organized by the Department of Econometrics and Statistics Faculty of Applied Informatics and Mathematics, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Poland www.wzim.sggw.pl. But QME'2009 is the first conference organized on an international scale with distinguished members of the Program Committee from worldwide academic communities.

QME'2009 International Conference will take place in 4-star deluxe design Andel's Hotel lokalized in XIX'th Century Manufaktura Center in Lodz (Poland) www.manufaktura.com/EN/HotelAndel.asp on June 18-20, 2009

The aim of the conference is to explore issues and discuss problems of application:

  • statistical methods including hypotheses testing, multidimensional analysis, dynamic methods and spatial methodology;
  • economeric methods i.e. single and multi-equation models, dynamic and financial econometrics and nonlinear models;
  • stochasic processes and time-series analysis;
  • artificial intelligence methods;
  • optimization methods, also multi-criteria models and dynamic optimization;
  • mathematical and data mining methods

to solve problems consisting of:

  • analyzing, describing and modeling systems and phenomena,
  • verifying hypotheses and theories,
  • classification and recognizing objects and cases,
  • forecasting and simulations,
  • decision making and risk management

in economics and finance considering micr, mezo and macro scales.

Special emphasis will be placed on problems connected with investment, financial engineering, capital markets, emerging economies, globalization and economic crises.

Listening to the conference presentations is free of charge.

Deadlines and fees

Important dates and deadlines

Registration for full-programme participants still open until 15'th of  June 2009.
Note: listening to the conference presentations is free of charge

Papers received before 15'th of May 2009 will be published in peer-reviewed journals: QME'2009 Working Papers (3 points) or  MIBE Journal (6 points) or Polish Journal of Environmental Studies (Thompson List).


Conference fee is 1200 zl (or 400 euro) and it covers stay (from 18 to 20.06.2009) in the 4 star deluxe Andel’s Hotel in the double room, conference service,  including issues of conference proceedings with printed papers, and publishing the paper (accepted in the reviewing procedure) in Folia Oeconomica Stetinensia not longer than 10 pages including Tables and Figures.

Additional fee for single room is 400zł (or 150 euro).

Additional fee for the papers publishing in the Polish Journal of Environmental Studies is 85 zł (or 30 euro) per page. Note that every Table and Figure is treated as additional page and costs 100 zł (or 35 euro) each, the paper should not be shorter than 8 pages of the standard text (i.e. without Tables and Figures).

Note: Regular daily hotel rate is 210 euro for single room and 230 for the double. The special hotel rate will be available for the conference participants in the period “around” the conference.
